There still are several Armored Core kits on sale for half price at HLJ:

An Omer Magnus ended up in my Private Warehouse.

I grabbed the AC1 Nineball from the sale, as well as the Kotobukiya Jehuty and Vic Viper from Zone of Enders, and also a Fujimi Lamborghini Veneno for kicks.

Good Boy! The Jehuty is kind of a pain in the a$$ to finish but really worth it.

Ya I've wanted one for a long time now. The sale was the perfect opportunity. Now I just need to track down an Anubis.

Also on my shopping list:
The Armored Core Barbaroi unit
The 2nd ACV Armored Core kit (Vengeance or something?)
Wave 1/72 Destroid Defender
Wave 1/72 Destroid Phalanx

New Armored Core kit coming - it's another one of those chunky ungainly Armored Core V things...

And here I was going to swoop in and defend something 'chunky'....yeah, no. That thing is hideous.

Yeah ACV just doesn't do it for me. That's probably why I played ACV for about 30 minutes and never touched it again. Bought the ACV spinoff for some insanely optimistic reason and then could never be bothered to even start it. Makes me a sad AC fan. AC kit releases are pretty slow compared to what they were for a while... I hope we are eventually gonna get some more non-ACV stuff. Some more AC3 and AC4 with a token AC1 here and there would be nice. Interesting that they've never touched AC2. Is AC2 not popular with fans or are the designs just too bland to be marketable?

Almost $200 for the new tank with reused core and arm parts.

Also the scale of the ACV kits is bugging me a lot lately. Adding 3+ meters to the original height of 5 meters is a bit excessive.

I got really excited about that one till I saw it was 200 bucks. I am really disliking almost everthing they have been doing with AC5 models.

A few things I like about the ACV kits:
-extremely well detailed
-easier to build
-customization options for some parts.
-hands have a better grip on the weapons.

What I don't like:
-price. They're about the size of a HGUC but costs more than a MG.
-scale is way off.
-most joints are ABS, and fewer polycaps(around 5). Joints are too thight and they're difficult to pose
-some pieces can fall off easily

As pleased as I am to see another non-biped AC kit... the price seems a bit steep.

On the plus side, I actually like the looks of this thing. I guess AC5 is better at doing tanks than mecha. I mean.... the rest of the AC5 kits so far are pretty much hideous deformed blocky monstrosities to my eyes... but this new one is something I think I could enjoy.

I think it's worth pointing out that the $189.99 is Kotobukiya US list price... I suspect the japanese yen street price will be notably lower. I still expect the kit to be over 10000y though... the AC5 kits have been pricy in general so far, ranging from 7800y to 8800y.

I'm thinking the japanese retail price might be somewhere between 14800y and 16800y.... now if you buy from HLJ and they do their normal 20% off retail thing, that's somewhere between 11840y and 13440y... which at current exchange rates becomes somewhere between $98.85 and $112.21. Granted that's still a good chunk of money, but a heck of a lot more reasonable than $189.99, don't you think?

I can definitely see myself picking one up at HLJ. I can't pass up the one and only tank AC, even if it's from that frickin' AC5 series.

OK, a little more pricy than I thought. 18800yen retail, 15040yen on 20% off pre-order. That's $126.31 USD. Still a lot cheaper than $189.99.

Pricing seems alright I guess. I can still probably get this under $200 aud.
