I find the VF-25 a bit of a disappointment. It doesn't look bad. The problem is the design is totally unoriginal. "Hi, VF-0" indeed. Also, it looks less advanced than the YF-19 or YF-21, even though it is a later product. I wonder if each plane has a hyperspace drive like the above-mentioned two. The robot mode has some wonky proportions.

Look at the lead. Pink, flowing ribbon on long hair FTW!!

With all that said, if the show turns out to be as good as the original series, all will be forgiven.

Agreed. I thought Macross II had some really good original designs, especially the VF-2SS,  Macross needs to go in that direction.

The VF-2 is an awesome design, one of my favorite VFs. Much respect for Koichi Ohata for one-upping (IMO) Kawamori in his area of expertise. It's a pity Macross II, as a show, sucks so badly that its mecha designs get buried under all the negative reception.

Anyhow, back the Macross Frontier. I wonder what role the idol singer will play this time (other than as an idol singer). The idea of having an alien race that is vulnerable to pop songs is tacky but fun the first time, a stretch the second time round, and may well become a bad joke if every new alien that appears has this same curious weakness.

I don't believe the YF-19 and YF-21 had "hyperspace" drives. They had to use fold boosters. I really like the VF-25 design because it has my favorite parts from other VFs.

I can't wait for Yamato to release a 1/60 scale or a Bandai perfect grade kit! In my dreams. Lol.

It seems sorta like the YF-19 and VF-0 mixed into one design.

It has designs from SV-51, VF-0/1, and YF-19 IMO.

Looks awsome in Gerwalk but the Battroid mode looks screwed up. What's with the torso?

Bah, terminology. They perform the same function. I prefer to call them hyperspace drives because when the YF-19 did its jump in Mac Plus, it goes through that weird region of colored lights that is normally associated with hyperspace in popular media.

PG may be a bit tough, but a Yamato 1/60 is pretty likely. Yeah, I'd get one too. Can't resist them VFs.

It may just be me, but doesn't the VF-25 most closely resemble the VF-11?

I've thought about that before. The VF-25 is just a tad more elegant.

And I found the nose is similar to the Morgan from Ace Combat.
