Soooooooo is it just me or did Smart Maple substantially reduced the gunpla stock at their stores (while still retaining silly prices)
Not sure, I went there about 2 or 3 weeks ago.  Stocks look the same to me.

I've been to the Centerpoint and Promenade locations in the past week and all the big kits that used to be up high are all gone. Some were moved to the shelf with the smaller stuff, and the shelf itself shrunk quite a bit. Big MGs and PGs pretty much gone.

Not too surprising about this trend.  Big kits that don't sell = taking up more shelf room and covering dust.  It's better to use the shelf space for several different types of kits and diversify.  Less risk this way.  I believe Bandai invented RG line to replace what used to be MG and the current MG replace what used to be PG.

Aura Model Shop seems to have given up completely, no more gunpla or toys there as of last week...

Not too surprising.  Gundambase's shelves were also semi-empty last time I checked.  Could it be another hobby store bite the dust?

Also, a friendly reminder that Hornet Hobby's anniversary should be this weekend.  Not sure if they will have anniversary sales this year, stay tuned.

UPDATE: no sales at Hornet Hobby as at today.

Silver Snail still hasn't restock after the massive blowout they had at AnimeNorth, but they still have the MSM RX-78, Zaku II and Char Zaku for $100 which is quite decent for EMS only kits.

I was told Aura beat the dust finally.  R.I.P.

Also I maybe organizing another Hobbywave group buy for the following kits:
PM if interested.  Shipping is $18 flat rate and taxes are 13% for Ontario.

The gift store nearest to One's Standard Living in Market Village has liquidation sales, including their bootlegs Gunpla (including MG Deathscythe EW and HGUC Kshatriya).

Also Toys^2 at FMP has been flooded.  They should reopen on Sept. 13th.

This particular store no longer has any Gunpla.

I went to FMP last week and found out Toys^2 has re-opened.  The shop is now a lot brighter and cleaner.

Hornet Hobbies have 15% off on almost everything until Nov. 18th.  Time to pickup some supplies.

Gundam Base has a shelf of 2011 and a few years back hobby magazines at $5 each. Mainly Dengeki and Hobby Japan.

Apperently Aura is not dead after all.
I was at Yonge Dundas Square today and noticed it was back on the store index but this time in the basement. It was closed at the time and all I could see was the girly stuff but we'll see if they kept any gunpla/paint.

Silver Snail has recently moved into Yonge Dundas Square with no entrance from inside the mall but from the outside on Yonge street. Their gunpla selection has suffered significantly because of the move.

On another note it seems acquiring Dengekis locally is becoming a problem.
Gundam Base jacked up the prices to $45 for recent magazines and they're missing the July issue that I need.
MediaRich at Times Square on HWY7 has an awesome selection and great prices as long as you don't want the most recent issue, but again missing July 2012 that I need (not the Japanese one at least)
Toys^2 only had one Dengeki issue after reopening.
Hobby King barely stocks any issues at all.
AnimeXtreme only carries a few Hobby Japan issues.

At this point I don't even care to limit myself within TTC range because I think I've already been everywhere that might have hobby mags.
What other stores in the Greater Toronto Area stock magazines?

Alternatively: WTB Japanese Dengeki Hobby July 2012. Don't care about the bonus SD Banshee, just want the magazine in good condition.
