Hi all,

If there was any doubt for my unflinching love for Katoki's WIng ver ka., hope this proves my fanaticism :)

Yes, this is my 4th official MG Wing ver ka. (and 6th overall MG Wing painting - I paint stripped two) and it is based on Quattro Bagina's Hyaku Shiki which was fielded by AEUG during the Gryps War (in Zeta Gundam TV series).  This is basically a what if? design like all my Wing ver ka.  Anyway here are the mod details:

1. added HGUC Gouf shoulder spikes to the shoulder armors
2. added 8 2mm tubes on shoulders, front skirt armor, and calves
3. added HG 1/100 Sandrock backpack on top of stock MG Wing ver ka. pack.
4. added MG Wing Zero custom double rifles to the Sandrock backpack which contain pivot arms
5. added MG Destiny Gundam feet
6. added Kotobukiya vernier option parts to front skirts
7. replaced the hip frame, backskirt and legs with those from MG Freedom
8. lance is from Coreworks Crossbone Gundam conversion recast (poor quality - needed a lot of sanding) + handle from HG 1/100 Tallgeese Dober gun + parts from Kotobukiya's weapons set lance + MG Shin Musha Gundam's spear
9. wings were modified to spread - like all my other Wing ver ka.
10. decals are mainly from Xyberdecal #5, the "Hyaku" decals on shoulders are from Samuels

The gold is from Tamiya TS21 gold lacquer spray can.  I ended up spraying thru 9 cans for $6.50 a pop, b/c of a lot of trial and error involved.  The lacquer spray is mostly smooth, but the can needs a certain way of spraying for maximum smoothness.  Also, you can't mask over the gold b/c the masking tape invariably end up taking off some of the gold paint with it.  I love how this turned out but I doubt I will ever work with spray cans as main base coat again.

The red, blue, grey and black are all tamiya acrylics custom paint.

Anyway here are the pics, enjoy!

Excellent! Definitely has the Hyaku Shiki feel to it. Must of been a pain for the lance and the cost of all that gold spray.

very inspiring. I never thougth gold, red, and blue can look so good on a non Hyaku Shiki. Every recent one you make is my new favorite of yours. This is very wonderful.

awesome love the little gold rings that you put around the kit, but im not feeling the spikes. i think it just look out of place. i also wish that you use some of the inner frame for the leg, because it's one of the selling points of the Hyaku Shiki.hope you dont think im being rude .

np AirZero, every1 is entitled to his opinions.

I considered the Hyaku Shiki type legs but decided against it... I wanted a solid look for this mech, and showing excessive frames just didnt do it for me with this mech although its supposed to be Hyaku Shiki custom.  As for the spikes... I do feel that they work out here, but initially I was planning to build a Wing ver ka. Kshtriya custom so thats why I placed the spikes in the first place.

By the end of this project I just wanted to move on so perhaps I may have missed out on some opportunities :)

Btw my next project - already cleaned/ primed - is the VP Nu Gundam Extra Fit version, than a modded Crossbone Gundam.  Wish me luck!

Looks great as usual. The smooth paint job is really a sight to behold, especially for a spray can job!

Like Airzero, I'm not sure I feel the horns but it certainly makes it unique.
Also, from a personal peeve stand point the "HYAKU SHIKI" and "BOOSTER" decals just has to go. :P

You mentioned the Hyaku shiki type shins and I think you should have carved out the armor... Because right now, with how the buster rifles are arranged on the back, this resembles more the Akatsuki from Seed D than the Type 100!

LOL! Sorry man but I... I just get those vibes!

You can at least take solace in that the gold really is nice and better than any Akatsuki out there.
