If there was any doubt for my unflinching love for Katoki's WIng ver ka., hope this proves my fanaticism
Yes, this is my 4th official MG Wing ver ka. (and 6th overall MG Wing painting - I paint stripped two) and it is based on Quattro Bagina's Hyaku Shiki which was fielded by AEUG during the Gryps War (in Zeta Gundam TV series). This is basically a what if? design like all my Wing ver ka. Anyway here are the mod details:
1. added HGUC Gouf shoulder spikes to the shoulder armors
2. added 8 2mm tubes on shoulders, front skirt armor, and calves
3. added HG 1/100 Sandrock backpack on top of stock MG Wing ver ka. pack.
4. added MG Wing Zero custom double rifles to the Sandrock backpack which contain pivot arms
5. added MG Destiny Gundam feet
6. added Kotobukiya vernier option parts to front skirts
7. replaced the hip frame, backskirt and legs with those from MG Freedom
8. lance is from Coreworks Crossbone Gundam conversion recast (poor quality - needed a lot of sanding) + handle from HG 1/100 Tallgeese Dober gun + parts from Kotobukiya's weapons set lance + MG Shin Musha Gundam's spear
9. wings were modified to spread - like all my other Wing ver ka.
10. decals are mainly from Xyberdecal #5, the "Hyaku" decals on shoulders are from Samuels
The gold is from Tamiya TS21 gold lacquer spray can. I ended up spraying thru 9 cans for $6.50 a pop, b/c of a lot of trial and error involved. The lacquer spray is mostly smooth, but the can needs a certain way of spraying for maximum smoothness. Also, you can't mask over the gold b/c the masking tape invariably end up taking off some of the gold paint with it. I love how this turned out but I doubt I will ever work with spray cans as main base coat again.
The red, blue, grey and black are all tamiya acrylics custom paint.
Anyway here are the pics, enjoy!
