Yes, these are gonna be offered at the Wonder Festival 2010 Summer Event in japan. its a resin kit, comes unpainted. Suppose to be the first in the series, either the 00 unit or 02 unit will probably be next.

edit: nvm, got my info mixed up, thought you were talkin about another unit from the same company

Has anyone had experience with the Evangelion vinyl kits put out by Wave/Sega?

This is an example of the box.  I'm having an awfully hard time finding out any information on these or finding any pics of the finished product.

I don't own any of the vinyl kits but I did look into them at one point. Unfortunately best I could do was find some box and contents pics on Y!J

The Wave ones are something like no paint required, just trim and assemble. You can get a bit more info out of these auctions:

Those pictures were very helpful.  I wonder why info on these things is so scant.  I'm not sure these would be worth picking up.  Looks like most of the fine detail comes from the foil stickers.  I've never painted on vinyl...

Funny..those resin kits were 00 and 02, yet I haven't seen them pose like that in either original or rebuild. Must be marketing.  <_<

What's I'm waiting for though is Eva-02 Beast Mode. ( ゚ ヮ゚)

Most of the time the officially sanctioned kits from big companies like Bandai, Wave, Kotobukiya get special box art by the show staff. In this case it's by Yoh Yoshinari

Kinda sucks that the Y!J search didn't bring up the 00 kit as well

I meant in the movie. Sorry for the ambiguity. ^^; But the box art looks nostalgic. Reminds me when I saw the original series.

FCK. I came buckets. ( ;゚Д゚)

..the painted version looks a tad bit too eh~ tho. Choice of colors were a bit too dark and glossy for me. D:

Hello everyone! i'm new on this "model kit world", and i have a couple of questions, i hope you can help me...
I've been collecting action figures for many years, most of them 1/6 scale like Hot Toys, Medicom, Sideshow...
I also collect Evas and i have the SOC SPEC ones and the old "Kaiyodo xebec" line... But i've been looking for something more accord to my current collection... 12"(30 cms) full detailed... So the only thing i've found are Model Kits, and i'm really interested on giving my firsts steps on this world...
So... my first purchase is this guy... i've found him for a very good price..  :D

Eva 05 Mass resin kit:

http://middleman.yol...s/DSC01606c.jpg

I've no experience with airbrush so i'm planning to build him and send it to someone who can do a good job painting him....

Then i was looking for the other units in the same scale... and this is what i have in mind... i would like to know what do you think of this old kits, if they fit in the same scale and if they are worthed... because they are so expensive now...
Or wich do you think are the best Evas model kits ever?

For the Eva 01 i think:
Perfect Grade Evangelion

And for the Evas 00, 02, 03:
Technique Impossible Series

I hope you can answer me! thanks so much!!

The Perfect Grade Evas aren't great, they look nice but aren't well engineered. They're a pain to assemble.

The Technique Impossible stuff are even harder, but look great too.

IMO the best EVA kits are the recent Bandai ones.

I'm fairly certain the Technique Impossible kits are smaller than the PG Eva-01 but bigger than the HG lineup.

Thanks for the answer... The recent ones from Bandai like this one?

The problem is that i was looking something bigger (12") and with the classic look from the tv series...
