I forgot to start a new thread for that yesterday. That post was from then. Tonight I painted it. I painted a base coat of dark gray (5 parts semi gloss black, 3 parts semi gloss white), then painted a thinned coat of white on top of it for shading. I used MR COLOR lacquers. For the windshield I used alclad gloss black lacquer, (I masked off the windshield, although not perfectly) then used Tamiya Synthetic Lacquer clear coat spray can to seal it. I used this for the whole ship. Then I used testors enamel silver and a fine brush to detail the venting. Then I messed up the windshield and I had to redo it, so I just clear flat coated the ship then. Then I redid the windshield, and then did the red masking, with foo's hairspray and salt masking trick for a splash of color. Then I matte coated again. Last I redid the clear coat on the windshield a little thick on purpose, and let it dry at an angle. I still might go back and completely smooth out the viewing windshield, but maybe not if time is tight. Maybe I can justify saying it's a little bumpier than normal from space debris. I still need to put some decals on, and maybe repaint the skis to be solid, but that's for Monday probably. I didn't get to finish the Freya this week, so maybe I will get to Monday or the next few days after that. Sorry for the blurry photos, I didn't have much time to setup a tripod. I'll post better ones maybe tomorrow. Well here is the progress for the shuttlecraft cuttlefish so far. Enjoy!
