Hi all,

I am getting back into this hobby after a 2 year hiatus due to school. I paint exclusively Gundam.

I have a question about paint types.

Up until now, I have been using Mr. Color lacquer paints exclusively and have gotten very good durability and results. I might try switching over to the Tamiya acrylics because of the better health prospects in the long run. I was wondering how durable Tamiya paints are in your experience.

Like, after it cures on a Gundam model, is the coating from the Tamiya paints durable and hard to damage? I have found that I don't generally have issues with lacquer paints because they are so strong, but I have zero experience with acrylics. I have heard they are fairly weak compared to lacquers, so I am worried that they won't be as strong and will easily scratch off after a few years or if accidentally poked with a sharp object.
