I got some equipments to get ready for my model. Tell me if i am on the right track.

Lets start with the primer paints. Are these fine to use ? I know that they are used on car models.

Looks like you hit the hobby shop!

I've never used the Testors primers, but I imagine they will be fine. For around the same price you could also go to the auto parts shop or a hardware store and pick up some primer there in a bigger can.

The safety pins might be hard to cut. PLain regular paperclips will be easier to use.

The rest of the stuff, cutters, knife, and scriber are all must have items and you'll be glad you have them.

You are off to a good start.

I see that the primers are labeled enamel.  Do you plan to use acrylics for painting?  If not, it may be advisable to use a lacquer-based primer, otherwise the paint may not properly adhere to the surface.

a hui hou,

This one is a primer that can be purchased from any hardware/garden store.  There are other brands like Xynolyte, and Krylon, this one is a line that Rustoleum makes.

I have never used safety pins before, but I have used jumbo sized paperclips for pinning joints together.  Safety pins may work, but just be careful when using them.

That primer should be fine. Acrylics are very mild and won't cause a reaction with anything.

a hui hou,
Hmm... I agree.  Safety pins will work.  But I can imagine a lot of mishaps with it if you're not careful.  Like when you are cutting them, they could fly across the room if you don't have tape around the joint  were you're cutting at.   I'd just use paper clips just to be safe.

As for primers, I'm still figuring that out myself.

For pinning, Paper clips are the best option. Safety pins are more rust resistant than paper clips, but except for the occasional polystone model, (where moisture is more prone to penetrate) they aren't really needed. I use paper clips more than anything.  ;)

Whats the difference between a resin kit and vinyl? I read somewhere that you shouldn't  apply enamel-based paint onto vinyl.

Resin is usually a solid cast GK.

Vinyl is hollow cast and a softer material.

I've heard that oils don't dry on vinyl, but the enamel thing is new to me. I've used enamel with no problem on vinyl.
