The kit has been cast, the sample casting has been built. All thats left is for me to draw the instructions. Starship Modeler has expressed an interest in carrying it there. They will set the final price for it but it should be under 150 USD. My sample only had 2 of the 4 toe spikes but all 4 will be in the kit. The pose i built it in stands at 7 inches tall and the rail gun is 11 inches long when built. The kit IS 1/72 scale and looks great with AC and other chunky burly mecha. It is made to be pick a pose in nature so you do not have to build it in just one way. It will NOT however stand on its own when built powered up and will need to be pinned ot a base.

Hey HwR.

You told me about this model some time ago. I told you then that I'd buy one and I'm standing by it. If you can do it in time, PM me when it's availible!

intriguing.... depending on how much it is, i may pick one up. All we need now is a Ray kit to fight it for some MGS4 action!

Its a complete resin Kit. like its stated above it should be well under 150USD. Its comprised of 71 pieces and is 2X wider than a 1/72 macross Destroid.

I wouldnt go doing Rex Vs Ray dios yet. Theres more to come in the next year.

No price or time of availability at this time but as you can see theres good things afoot.

I know man. I just kept the final development from here since things were getting frustrated. Alot of repeat questions from people who didnt bother to read info clearly posted earlier in the thread. Exact availability is still unknown at this point but all molds are obviously done. All sales for the kit will go through starship modeler when it is ready. They have fast dependable service and only sell what they have in stock. no year long preorders. They dont have it they dont sell it. I will post here when it is in their store. they will have updates on their site as well so keep your eyes peeled.

All i ask is that nobody recast this. Its not going away any time soon and theres no limit on it right now. Not like a WF kit where only 20 sell then go for ungodly prices. I know alot of people want this kit. If i do find out it is recast then there will be no further releases from me here.

You are an amateur model builder like us. Because I know you, I will absolutely respect your wishes. I hope that the rest of the community here and the ones elsewhere will respect your wishes.

I look forward to being able to do what you are doing one day. Yes, please keep me updated.

So Starshipmodeler is an exclusive seller? That's a very interesting turn. I wonder how many mecha-heads visit that site.

Finally - great work. Oh - were the moulds made of the primed master, or of the painted one?

The original was ripped and stripped, then cut apart and completely remade for this. in essence its an all new model. Very little of the original remains. maybe the head and some of the leg but other than that it was remade from the ground up. Thats another reason it took so long. Alot of studying line art and getting the general shape more defined then detailed. There are alot of differences between seperate line art pages and even the 3 different in game CG models. This model is kind of a mix of it all.

The model above is made from the first castings to come from the molds. The caster poured it to make sure he got all the flow channels right. He said there were many challenging pieces in it. Not in a bad way though. I learned alot making it and the next subjects i make will be even better.

This model looks really freaking awesome. I wish I could afford one. I'll keep this one in mind in case I actually get a performance bonus this year.
